Goda Perlaviciute is assistant professor in Environmental psychology at the University of Groningen. Her research evolves around public acceptability of energy sources, systems, and policies. In her research, Goda studies general factors and processes that drive public acceptability for the efforts towards decarbonising the energy sector and transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy. She has introduced a conceptual framework that integrates individual and contextual factors to explain public acceptability of energy developments. Her research shows that particularly people’s values play an important role in acceptability.
Goda is involved in multiple projects on energy transitions and public acceptability, where she works together with scholars from different disciplines and with practitioners and decision-makers in the energy domain. She supervises several PhD projects on public acceptability of energy sources, systems, and policies. She coordinates and lectures in the master programme in Environmental psychology at the University of Groningen.
